Welcome to the New Void. (…)

For about a month Martine Derks and Charlotte Rooijackers will be working in Teylers Museum in Haarlem, one of the first museums in the Netherlands. Starting their research they enter the museum through its guest books, which date all the way back to 1789, they make their way through the collection of this ‘Museum of a Museum’.  Approaching the museum on a bodily level: what relation do we have as a visitor with the museum itself; testing the authority of the museum through establishing a fictional dialogue with it.

The first presentation of their performative lecture called DEAR MUSEUM, DEAR GUESTS,

was shown as part of the Outlet Inn on the 20th of June in the Nieuwe Vide in Haarlem.
